Anchor Stitchalong 2022 - #bird_travellers #anchorstitchalong

Pack up your needle and threads because we are off on an adventure! We are excited to announce our brand new stitchalong for 2022: Bird Travellers, in collaboration with Anna from @mr.stitch_mrs.needle

If you love cross stitch and would like a free pattern to stitch every month, or maybe you’ve always wanted to try cross stitch but not really known where to start, joining in with a stitchalong is the perfect way to develop your skills and share you love of embroidery with others. We will travel around the world with two adorable little birds as our guides as they visit a different destination each month.
Find out more below about how to take part…

How do I join?
The stitchalong will go live on Monday 10th January 2022 when the free pattern for the first month will be available to download on www.anchorcrafts.com
Each month after this our little cross stitch birds will fly to a new city & we will release the next design on the 10th of each month, throughout 2022. By the end of the year you will have 12 beautifully stitched designs featuring landmarks from around the world.

Can anyone join, and how much does it cost?
Of course, and it is absolutely free! All you will need is your materials (for details see below), and to download the chart/pattern each month.

I’ve never cross stitched anything before, will it be suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! Each of the designs are made in cross stitch, and are fairly small in size so should be manageable for confident beginners, and a stitchalong is a great way to improve your skills. You will need to know how to make cross stitch, back stitch and French knots.

What materials do I need?
A full list is included on each pattern download & will be announced on Instagram at the beginning of the month, but please see below for a kit list and the thread shades needed for month 1 (January).
- Embroidery Needle size 7
- Small scissors.
-  An embroidery hoop, At least 5” size (or larger)
- Aida fabric. Finished sizes & thread usage are based on 16# aida, but you may wish to use a fabric of your choice. E.g. use a different count aida or even stitch on to evenweave on linen.
